Nordstrom devotees know summer is the best time of the year for scoring deep discounts at the department store. Unlike most major sales, Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale isn’t just a way to get rid of last season’s spillover—shoppers will find deals on brand-new items and made-for-the-sale kits across every category (clothing, shoes, luggage and bags, accessories, and home goods included).

For select Nordstrom cardholders, the sale opened up July 6. Cardholders with “Icon” Nordy Club status have first dibs on the deals, with “Ambassadors” and “Influencers” gaining access on July 7 and 9, respectively. On July 15, Nordstrom’s 2022 Anniversary Sale will Taos Shoes open up to the general public. If you’re in the last camp, don’t worry, there will be plenty of deals available through July 31, the last day of the sale—but to maximize your chances of scoring exactly what you want, create an account and add your top picks to a wish list so you can start shopping ASAP.

Women’s clothes

Nordstrom is often the place we turn to for comfortable basics that fit right into our travel uniform. During the Anniversary Sale, many of the department store’s bestsellers are discounted, including Barefoot Dreams’ super-soft cardigan and a Nordstrom-made cashmere sweater, both of which are great layering pieces for plane rides. You can also find several pieces from Zella, Nordstrom’s in-house athleisure brand, on sale; beyond the joggers and leggings below, the popular high-waist workout leggings and summer-friendly bike shorts are marked down, too.

Men’s clothes

Hundreds of men’s clothing items are included in the sale, with deals from brands like Marine Layer, Adidas, Cole Haan, Levi’s, and more. Stock up on Dr Scholl Shoes everything from dress shirts fit for fall weddings to summer-ready swim trunks and comfortable cotton T-shirts.

Comfortable shoes

A good pair of wear-all-day shoes is a staple in any travel uniform, and thankfully, this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is filled with deals on men’s, Justin Boots women’s, and kids’ styles, whether you’re looking for sneakers, sandals, dress shoes, or slippers. One of our favorite sandals for lounging around the house, Airbnb, or hotel, the Adidas slide, is 25 percent off.

Luggage and backpacks

If you’re in need of a luggage refresh, Nordstrom has a solid selection of options from some of our favorite brands—Tumi, Béis, and Dagne Dover included. Beyond the suitcases and backpacks highlighted below, there are plenty of duffels on sale: pick up a discounted Dagne Dover carry-all in a Nordstrom-exclusive color, a water-resistant Herschel bag, or a lightweight Tumi overnighter. Planning for an extended trip, say a month or longer? This oversized Tumi case might be just what you’re looking for.

Handbags

Along with luggage, the Anniversary Sale includes discounts on tons of crossbody bags, totes (like this always-popular Tumi Just In Case tote), and fanny packs to keep your belongings close by on the go. You can save on bags from Clare V., Longchamp, Rebecca Minkoff, and Proenza Schouler, too.

Travel accessories

A heads up to parents: You can save almost $300 on an Uppababy stroller during the Anniversary Sale, or $200 on a Thule stroller (head here for more baby gear).
